Resident Evil 6 set to invade cinemas in September 2014

The Resident Evil film series is showing no signs of disappearing any time soon, following the news that part six is due out next autumn.

According to reports, fans of the zombie-laden franchise can look forward to yet another instalment of mayhem, murder and Milla Jovovich, with a release date of September 12, 2014 already on the cards.

Sony executive Rory Bruer assured fans after the release of Retribution that a sixth film would be forthcoming, saying: ‘It ain’t ending here’. – while Jovovich revealed last year that Anderson had plans for the project.

Speaking at the 2012 Comic-Con the actress said: ‘Paul did tell me an idea he had for a number 6. I don’t know details and all that…he said I really want to bring this to a closure. There’s definitely an end.’

While Retribution‘s domestic take wasn’t exactly enormous, its worldwide gross was $221,810,789 (Afterlife had an even more impressive cume of $296,221,663). In the Dickson house, we don’t care if your money comes from Japan, Bulgaria or wherever, just as long as it’s money. Most other businesses feel the same way, hence the continued march of the series.
