Film tackling human smuggling, Milla is shooting in Las Cruces

A film starring Milla Jovovich and revolving around human smuggling will be shooting all February in Las Cruces. According to the New Mexico Film Office, the star of the “Resident Evil” film franchise, as well as the iconic “The Fifth Element”, will be in Las Cruces shooting a film called “Protector.”

Directed by Adrian Grunberg, who helmed “Get the Gringo” with Mel Gibson, and “Rambo: Last Blood” with Sylvester Stallone, the movie will follow Jovovich’s character who is being described as a “former military mother.”

“Film Las Cruces is happy to have ‘Protector’ filming throughout our city,” Andrew Jara, Film Las Cruces Film Liaison, stated. “It’s a great project that fully utilizes our local crew, our unique locations, and great year-round weather.”
