And the Oscar goes to . .

While the Razzies are still mulling over who among Katherine Heigl, Milla Jovovich, Kristen Stewart, Barbra Streisand, Tyler Perry, Nicolas Cage, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler and Robert Pattinson “deserve” to take home Golden Raspberry trophies for Worst Performances last year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is getting ready to hand over Hollywood’s most coveted golden statuettes for the industry’s over-achievers at the glitzy Oscar Awards on Feb. 24 (morning of Feb. 25 in the Philippines).

CAA Signs ‘Resident Evil’s Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich has signed with CAA, after a run with WME.
The Ukrainian-born actress has quietly amassed an outsized gross track record, as one of the very few actresses who have flourished in action films. Her futuristic zombie extravaganza Resident Evil (hatched by her husband, Paul W.S. Anderson) is approaching $900 million in worldwide grosses, making it the biggest female-driven action film series ever and the biggest video game transfer. And she can sing.

Jovovich most recently did the femme fatale turn opposite Robert De Niro and Edward Norton in the John Curran-directed Stone, and I hear that another Resident Evil is in the early stages.

Jovovich continues to be repped by Untitled Entertainment and lawyered by Steve Warren.

Facebook news

(January 31)

so my husband just said the best quote to me this morning, after i was gonna do something i thought was funny in regards to something kind of important (btw, i always think i’m really funny, people think it’s hilarious!): He said “Milla PLEASE, don’t be funny, be AMAZING!” lolololol! my poor husband! thank goodness i don’t send any important emails without letting him read them first! lololol!

listen, i know haven’t been on in ages. its weird, i go through phases where i’m super open and then i go into these mini internal vortex’s that end up spinning me into a little corner of my psyche and it’s hard to figure your way out! lol! but, i’ve been doing it all my life and my good friends know that milla can “disappear” sometimes and its nothing personal. it’s almost like needing to “refuel” you know?
for instance, me @chrissbrenner and @stuartzender have been playing non stop and recording so much new material, it’s like we hit this nice vein of gold between ourselves and the music just flows, you know? and i’ve been writing so many lyrics that yesterday i had to say “hey, can we just work on something we have written already, cause i don’t really feel like writing again today… i feel like… i need to refuel.”

but saying that, we have 10 NEW SONGS recorded!!! how amazing is that?! i haven’t just been off FB not doing anything, you know! lololol! and we have a few more that we’re in the midst of writing, so its been this fantastic open conduit of expression around “Casa J. Anderson”!

ok, time for the school run, i hope my husband did the “dressing duties” this morning since he saw i was on my computer! yikes! the last thing i need now is to argue with a 5 year old about why she needs a long sleeve t shirt at the end of january.

lots of love everyone! have an awesome one! xoxo m

News from Milla facebook

Milla yesterday was writing in facebook:

hahahaha! thanks @chrissbrenner for posting all these new pics! hey everyone! i hope you’re all well, sorry i’ve been m.i.a. but its been all fun family flu time, then school runs and writing music. also been recording some new songs w my boys @stuartzender, @chrissbrenner n @dannylohner (danny is also trying to get over the flu. feel better danny!).

life couldn’t be better to be honest. its been so wonderful to spend time at home, to play with my daughter, to cook, to read, to organize, to relax and watch tv, to play guitar.

i’m so grateful for the fact that i have this opportunity to really soak in the minute details of my life with out having some sense of urgency in the background.

i feel like there has always been a relationship between myself and the idea of passing time. it comes up in my writing quite a bit and in the way i lead my life. always needing to do something, always working, never being able to relax (unless i’ve had 3 uninterrupted days on the beach hooked up to a margarita i.v.) never allowing myself to feel BORED. never saw a reason to be bored, no time i guess.

anyway, now i’m using Facebook like a diary and that’s just not fair to you all! lol! to update you on the status of my vacation pics: i am working on them because i don’t want to instagram them piecemeal, i’d like to create an album (hey instagram, are you listening? great idea here!) so i am putting all the filters on in PS6 before i show them. but to be honest, most of the pics are of the kids, so i can’t post them on here, but there are a few of the adults as well! lol! you know you’re a parent when you’re never in your own pictures anymore!

have an amazing day everyone and enjoy all the new pics posted below! -m

arrive back in LAX after Hawaiian holiday

Milla Jovovich had fully embraced the laid-back vibe of the tropical destination as she arrived back in Los Angeles on Monday.Parading her toned legs in a pair of ripped denim shorts, the 37-year-old model and actress looked as though she was still in full-on holiday mode if her relaxed ensemble was anything to go by.The Ukrainian-born beauty teamed her denim cutoffs with an oversized stone-coloured jumper, a khaki T-shirt and mustard suede pumps as she walked through LAX Airport with her husband and five-year-old daughter.

Milla accessorised her casual outfit with a large gold and amber necklace – which was perhaps a souvenir from her Hawaiian holiday – and oversized sunglasses. The Resident Evil star completed her look with her short brunette locks falling in loose waves and showed off her model good looks by going make-up free.Despite no doubt being a little weary from her flight, Milla was lavishing attention on little Ever, crouching down to chat with her before picking her up and carrying her through the airport.

Meanwhile, husband Paul was left with the job of pushing the family’s haul of luggage through the airport on a trolley. It would seem Ever has already inherited her mother’s innate sense of style, with the little one looking simply adorable in a striped blazer, khaki cropped trousers and leather boots.

Anjelica Huston And David Thewlis Join Milla Jovovich For The Winter Queen

What would cause a promising student from an affluent family to shoot himself before the crowds of Moscow’s Alexander Gardens? This is the question posed to Erast Fandorin, a young, charming and untested member of the Criminal Investigation Division of the St. Petersburg Police. His winding investigation set in 1876 Russia is the driving force of Boris Akunin’s internationally best-selling detective novel The Winter Queen, which is on its way to being a star-studded mystery movie.

Coming Soon reveals Seven Arts Entertainment has not only secured Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich to headline, but also has scored Anjelica Huston, who most recently won acclaim for her part in the cancer dramedy 50/50, and David Thewlis, who is best known as Professor Remus Lupin of the Harry Potter franchise. Jovovich is slated to play Lady Amalia Bezhetskaya, a gorgeous femme fatale. Huston will portray Lady Astair, an English noblewoman who runs the Astair House, a branch of schools for orphan boys, while Thewlis will play Count Zurov, an Army officer and associate of Lady Amalia. At this time, there is no word yet on who will play the protagonist, Fandorin.

The Winter Queen marks the English-language debut of Russian actor turned director Fedor Bondarchuk, who has previously helmed the sci-fi action-adventures Obitaemyy ostrov, and Obitaemyy ostrov. Skhvatka. Bondarchuk’s latest film, the recently wrapped World War II drama Stalingrad is expected to hit theaters this year. Production on The Winter Queen will begin in April.

Merry Christmas Everyone

christmas, christmas christmas!!! hard to believe its already upon us again, like some great giant beast that has been curled up in a dark cave, silently waiting all year before springing out and body slamming you. Thank goodness I have my family with me to give this time its real meaning. I have to make sure my daughter understands how many people aren’t as lucky as we are, don’t have families and friends during the holidays… maybe we’ll go downtown and hand out dinners.
It really is such a time of reflection, end of the year and all, I have to focus on what the holidays really stand for, not just the consumer end, buy buy buy more more more, spend cash on more trash that neither you nor anyone else needs. But what about one smile for someone, even if you don;t particularly like them? Or not flipping out on someone who’s being rude? Helping your grandparents (or someone else’s. lol!). I don’t know, i just feel that Xmas and the holidays shouldn’t be about OURSELVES. About whether we’re happy or lonely or angry, but about OTHERS. Making sure your neighbor (or the closest thing to it) smiles today. Anyway, totally corny, but hey! We all survived the end of the world, so its a special year!
Yea, this time is incredible and full of great memories for some, but as an adult, i also know how painful it is for others.
Saying that, my family usually does our big shin dig on xmas eve and I want to post a vid and share a toast. Share a toast for and with all those that don’t have trees up, for those that can’t be with their families, for those that just don’t feel like it and wanna chill! Whatever! lol! i wanna make sure that if you have a phone or internet, we can share some holiday cheer and for you to know that you’re never truly alone. Have an incredible day! xo m
