Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson return for Resident Evil 5

In a piece of news that’s likely to surprise nobody ever ever ever in a million years ever, another Resident Evil movie is going into production. Both Milla Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson (directing his third film in the hit series) are slated to return for Resident Evil: Retribution, which is scheduled to go in front of the cameras in October with a planned September 14, 2012 release date.

In their exclusive announcement, Bloody Disgusting revealed that the fifth film in the financially-successful-yet-critically-maligned Resident Evil franchise will take Jovovich’s character to Japan, and that popular Resident Evil videogame characters Jill Valentine, Barry Burton and, most importantly, Leon Kennedy are coming along for the ride. Valentine previously appeared in the first movie sequel, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, as played by Sienna Guillory. She was supposed to return for the most recent film, Resident Evil: Afterlife, but reportedly had to back out due to scheduling conflict. Bloody Disgusting claims that the part will be recast for the fifth film.

And Leon…? Well, apparently the star of Resident Evil 4 (still the best game in the series) died off-screen in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, but nobody ever claimed to like this movie series because of its commitment to continuity.

We’ve never been as much a fan of the Resident Evil movies as we have been of the videogames, so our enthusiasm for a fifth film is limited. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

Milla will be the star of Campari’s 2012 calendar

Calendars are usually known as being collectables, but Campari have always managed to make their annual calendars a covetable item by securing some seriously beautiful people to pose for it. The 2012 Campari calendar won’t be any different with actress/model/fashion designer Milla Jovovich named as the star with Dimitri Daniloff photographing her.

“I was very excited and honoured when I heard that I’d been invited to star in the Campari Calendar,” Jovovich said in a release. “It is famous for its incredible photography and the amazing individuals who have appeared in it previously. I think people really will be intrigued when they see the finished Calendar. It will really make them stop and think.”

Jovovich’s 2012 Campari calendar will mark the 13th edition and she follows in the footsteps of Benicio Del Toro (2011), Olga Kurylenko (2010), Jessica Alba (2009), Eva Mendes (2008) and Salma Hayek (2007) as former stars.

The 2012 Campari calendar will unveiled in Milan in late October. We can’t wait to see Jovovich back in front of the camera again as a model.

Make-up free Milla Jovovich looks all puffed out after gym session with husband

At 35, she still has the ability to turn heads.

But today actress and model Milla Jovovich was not looking quite so glamorous following an arduous workout.
The Resident Evil star was pictured looking all puffed out as she left the gym in West Hollywood, accompanied by her husband Paul Anderson

Mila was completely make-up free with her brunette hair scraped back in a scruffy ponytail.

The Ukrainian star was dressed casually in leggings, a loose top and knee-high brown suede boots.

America website Cinemablend has reported that Milla is set to reprise her role as security officer Alice in a fifth installment of the Resident Evil sci-fi franchise.

It comes after the fourth movie, Afterlife, was a box office hit, accruing over $236m overseas.

That’s nearly two and a half times as much as the previous film Extinction and around as much as the first three movies combined.
It is slated for release in September 2012.

The entertainment website also reported that the movies’ star Milla has ‘promised that the next movie would be heavily influenced by fans [and] developed using an ‘interactive process.”‘

Milla married her long-time director beau Anderson back in August 2009 in the back garden of their Beverly Hills home.

Milla and Paul started dating in 2002 after meeting on the set of horror thriller Resident Evil, which he directed.

The L’Oreal model gave birth to their daughter Ever in November 2007.

The couple’s wedding comes after a six year engagement.

Milla has been married twice before. Her first to her Dazed And Confused co-star Shawn Andrews in 1992 when she was just 16 was annulled after two months.

She then went on to marry French director Luc Besson – 17 years her senior – in Las Vegas in 1998, but split a year later.

MILLA JOVOVICH WRAPS UP A WORK OUT

Leave it up to Milla Jovovich to make working out look good.

Dressed down, fresh-faced and makeup-free, the supermodel-turned-actress looked gorgeous as she headed off after hitting the gym in Los Angeles on Tuesday (February 22).

Milla has been busier than ever these days, with three films currently in post-production and another three more in pre-production.

After just wrapping up her work on The Three Musketeers alongside Orlando Bloom, 35-year-old Milla will soon begin work on Bad Luck, a David R. Ellis-directed mystery thriller about a group of friends who find their lives changed when the superstitions they don’t believe in begin to come true.
